It's people like you volunteering their time that make Budafest a successful event. Volunteers create memorable experiences for visitors and participants alike. This is a great opportunity for you or your organization to be a part of something big in your community while still enjoying the holiday season.  Find your perfect fit by reading the positions and volunteer schedules below. Thank you for your interest in volunteering!

NOTE: Coordinators and managers will lead a small team and be the go to person for all operations under your section. Don't worry, we'll prepare you with a pre-event meeting. You will be an expert the day of the event! Some positions will require up to 6 hours of volunteer time. Leadership positions will require information of experience and are denoted with an asterisk (*).

All positions will serve a minimum 3 hour shift. 


Market

Market Coordinator* (1 per shift)

  • Vendor check-in
  • Point of contact for all food and craft vendors
  • Back-up to volunteer coordinator
    (Volunteer coordinator is a staff position)

Market Assistant (1 Per Shift)

  • Attends to food and craft vendors
  • Assists market coordinator

Santa's ARTISAN Workshop Helper (2 per shift)

  • Attending to workshop vendors
  • Assisting the workshop coordinator
    (Workshop coordinator is a staff position)

Kid's Area

Kid's Area Coordinator* (1 per shift)

  • Designating and managing activities and guide area volunteer
  • Maintaining lines and a clean area
  • Designated communicator between volunteer coordinator and attendees

Kid's Activity Guide (3 per shift)

  • Assisting kids with their craft/activity
  • Maintaining orderly conduct at booths

Stage

Event Shifts

Stage Manager* (1 per shift)

  • Keep performances on schedule
  • Line up acts
  • Communicator between sound technician and acts
  • Any other communication necessary

Backstage Attendant (1 per shift)

  • Attending to performers
  • Assistant to the Stage Manager

MC (1 Per Shift)

  • Announce upcoming performers


Parade

Schedule:
5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m.
Saturday only

Parade Coordinator * (1)

  • Participant check-in
  • Parade line-up
  • Point of contact for parade participants

Mascot 

  • Wearing holiday costume provided
  • Taking photos and engaging with festival attendees
  • Joining the parade

Light Operator

  • Watching count down and turning on lights for Lighting Ceremony

VIP Attendant (2)

  • Serving cocoa during VIP reception
  • Clearing seats for VIP seating
  • Ensuring timely travel from reception to Parade reception

Snow slide Attendant (4 per shift)

  • Assisting sledders
  • Collecting sleds at end of slide and returning to them to the top
  • Maintaining orderly lines and conduct

Surveyor (2 per shift)

  • Interviewing festival attendees with pre-determined prompts
  • Recording information to turn into volunteer coordinator at the end of the volunteer shift
